It is futile to consider that Armenia is afraid of the war, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said at a solemn event on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of Armenia's independence, Sputnik Armenia reports.

'We are building a country that believes in peaceful democracy and the principles of humanism, but this does not mean that we are not going to protect us, our country, our future,' said the Armenian prime minister.

According to Pashinyan, the peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict is a priority for the Armenian authorities: 'Our position has not changed. Armenia stands for an exclusively peaceful settlement of the conflict and will do everything in its power to resolve the conflict by negotiations.'
