US President Joe Biden has said that Russian President Vladimir Putin will face the consequences of directing efforts to influence the US presidential election in favor of Donald Trump, Report informs, citing RIA Novosti.
"He will pay the price'', Biden said in an interview broadcast on ABC News on Wednesday.
In response to a question about the consequences he intended, Biden said, ''You will see soon''.
In a related context, the Kremlin spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, said that Russia would take all necessary steps to hedge against the possibility of the United States imposing new sanctions on it.
''We are required to take all necessary measures to hedge against risks and defend the interests of our country'', he was quoted by Bloomberg News Agency, without disclosing the steps that are being planned.
