Portal’s cooperation horizons: thinking of the future

Online for almost two years – – analytical/information website occupies a specific place in Azerbaijan’s media domain. Topics of the articles released in four languages (Azerbaijani, Russian, Turkish, and English) have been quite diverse. Firstly, international developments were kept in the spotlight and both local and foreign authors provided their viewpoints. Events and developments were not merely described but analyzed.

Significant attention was given to the issues of application of double standards in the approach to some pressing issues of the modern age. Urgent challenges facing the international community - viable threats to the international security (prevalence of the use of force on the international stage, increased activity of the international terrorist groups, organized crime, separatism trends, growing danger of inter-civilization clashes, fate of the multiculturalism idea) were particularly addressed.

Different aspects of development dynamics of Azerbaijan’s relations with the leading countries of the world and the regional players have been highlighted as well. Articles dedicated to finding just resolution to the conflicts in the South Caucasus and exploring avenues for regional integration were extensively accommodated. Series of analytical articles addressing geopolitical, political and diplomatic means of the settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict were released.

Owing to this particular feature hundreds of articles were republished in the local media, including "Respublika'', "525-ci gəzet'', "İki sahil'', "Səs'', "Yeni Azərbaycan'', "Azad Azərbaycan'', "New Baku Post'', "Şərq'', "Zaman'', "Millətçilik'' and others. Moreover, articles and references were released in the publications by the renowned "think-tanks'' in the U.S., Turkey, France, Britain, Russia, China, Germany, UAE, Lebanon, Israel, India, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and elsewhere.

Materials featured on our website were used in publications by the Jamestown Foundation (USA), Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars (USA), American Petroleum Institute, Central Asia and Caucasus Institute (USA), Geopolitical Analysis and Monitoring Institute (USA) and others. Other than that, references to our materials were made by the likes of "Foreign Policy Magazine'', "Central Asia and the Caucasus'', "Uluslararasi Hukuk ve Politika'', "Akademik Perspektif'', "Forbes'', "Newsweek'' and "Международные процессы''.

Renowned Turkish institutions such as International Political Academy (UPA), Center for International Strategic and Security Studies (USGAM) and Turkish Center for Politics and Research (Analiz Türkiye), UAE’s Institute for Near East and Gulf Military Analysis (INEGMA), Institute for International Research and Military-Political Studies under the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (Russia), Caspian Cooperation Institute (Russia) and Ukraine’s Global Transformations Institutereleased our articles.

Such online resources as "Wikipedia'', History of,,,,,,, and time after time, turned to the materials published on our website. One of the key reasons that our articles evoke keen interest is that analysis and predictions are scientifically substantiated, closely associated and oftentimes conforming to the reality.

The point is that constantly follows geopolitical, political, economic and cultural processes developing around the world. From the Americas to the Far East and the Pacific, the geopolitical processes throughout vast geographical space were given a meticulous analysis. Eventual course of events mostly attested to the accuracy of projections carried out in the articles. For example, our prediction about potential emergence of the second power center in the world in the wake of the global processes developing in the second decade of the XXI century turned out to be valid. Eurasian Union and the Customs Union are embodiments of that. has offered its own projections regarding pressing geopolitical processes in the Middle East, including the Arab Spring and suggested opinions about geopolitical posture of Syria, Egypt, Iraq, Afghanistan and Turkey in this context. Thesis about ambiguity of the essence and motives of the Arab Spring was articulated. In this sense, it was forecasted that uncertainty would persist in the geopolitical positions of the regional states, and that new undertones of struggle for regional prominence among the regional powers would emerge. Ongoing processes only attest to that claim.

We also predicted that Iran problem holds a chance to be resolved in the spirit of peace and mutual understanding and we were right. We believe the processes will continue to develop in this direction.

South Caucasus and the Caspian basin have remained in the focus. Our forecasts about increasing complexity of the geopolitical events and new critical heights of struggle for clout among the big powers were also corroborated. In this context, we suggested that Azerbaijan’s significance for Europe and the EU would be acknowledged by the Western political scientists and reviews of the articles by the likes of G. Friedman, B. Schaffer and A. Pedersen confirmed the accuracy of our opinion.

We expected escalating tensions in the relations between regional states in the Central Asia and indeed, situation remains intense there. Other than that, growing geopolitical rivalry between Russia, U.S. and China over the Central Asia was something we talked about and recent actions of the big powers attest to the accuracy of our calculations. made specific predictions regarding the Far East region. We have long forecasted more pronounced U.S.-China standoff and also expressed our view about new differences to emerge in Beijing’s relations with some other countries of the region. Recent events in that part of the world speak for themselves.

Logical result of our performance was the cooperative ties with several "think-tanks'' and analytical-information agencies were established. America’s "Legacy'' Foundation, International Strategic Research Organization (USAK) and the Institute of Strategic Thinking in Turkey, Russia’s Strategic Assessment and Prognosis Center, Ukraine’s Global Transformations Institute, Lithuania’s Geopolitical Studies Center are among those.

Azerbaijan factor: strategic aspect

Portal’s performance is not limited to the analysis of the geopolitical events developing on the international arena. We have released number of articles extensively evaluating Azerbaijan domestic policy, reform programs executed throughout various fields, energy policy, state building course and role in the regional integration issues. In this connection, we have analyzed successful foreign and domestic policy, for it remained a significant and urgent point for the

In the beginning of the year 2013, launched a Facebook group called "Support to the President – 2013'' that shortly amassed some 430 thousand followers.

Undoubtedly, intends not to rest on its laurels. The staff has identified new goals. In terms of creativity, there are plans to expand the content. We are exploring new models of more rapid response to the ongoing geopolitical, economic, political and cultural process around the world. Some novelties may be introduced to that end. We are reviewing several projects that are called for quick information supply on the results of the analysis performed by us. Organization of conferences, roundtables and seminars is on the agenda. The goal is to build up the analytical capacity and to publicize our performance. In that sense, increasing of the international contacts stands out as an important task.

Compilation of our articles was published as a book titled "Global politics: Threats, Challenges, Hopes'' (in Azerbaijani) and "Right makes might?'' (in Russian). It was a signature feature that distinguished us among the online media resources of Azerbaijan.

Thus, has preserved its signature style, as an analytical-information portal that, on a daily basis, has provided scientifically substantiated analysis and forecasts with respect to the international events.  The website has engaged the group of both local and international authors, notable for their international analysis. It also made use of its international contacts, namely media outlets and research centers in Russia, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Lithuania and elsewhere, to promote the realities of Azerbaijan abroad.

We are determined to continue our performance as a media outlet, fighting for our place and voice to be heard in the international media domain, and wish to thank all our partners for cooperation!
